Camera & Video Interfaces for Broadcast, AV Production and Event
Regardless of if we are talking about sport arenas or concert halls: very often the challenge is to deal with preinstalled cabling infrastructure that already does exist but was not designed for the current video standards or it can’ be used at all.
In the last years, we have launched a couple of different new key elements that allow system integrators to use different cameras and different transmission systems to build a very flexible video system in such environments.
Issues that we can solve:
Providing Power and Control into situations where no local power supply is available:
With our TL8656 video interface, we can connect block cameras to a 3G-SDI infrastructure. This interface allows to use the connected coax cable for three domains:
Video transmission
Camera Control
Sourcing the block camera and the video interface with power
Video transmission and Camera control over large distances
With our TL7075/76 fibre solution, we can integrate block cameras into 3G-SDI systems through a fiber connection. This solution offers video transmission and a bidirectional control channel within one fibre cable.
Using UHD block cameras in a 3G-SDI infrastructure
UHD Block Cameras require at least a 6G-SDI infrastructure (2160p25/30). In many situations, the existing cabling infrastructure was designed for FullHD cameras (3G-SDI). With our TL4K1161 and TL4K1171 interfaces, we can support 6G-SDI output (compliant to SMPTE ST2081-10 MODE 1 mapping) but also Dual Link 3G-SDI output (compliant to SMPTE ST425-3, 2si mapping). This allows using 3G-SDI cabling infrastructure for UHD cameras with frame rates up to 30 fps.
The AIVION TL8656 outputs serial digital video (SDI) up to 1080p60 with Power and Control over Coaxial Cable and an external Trigger. It connects to the digital video interface of the block cameras and supports several progressive and interlace HDTV formats.

Starvis 1/1.8-type CMOS sensor
The Sony FCB-EV9500L Sony blockcamera is equipped with an approximately 417 million- effective-pixel, 1/1.8-type high sensitive, AR-coated (anti-reflective coating) CMOS sensor. With a high spectral sensitivity value in near infrared
to infrared, it is especially effective for security uses. Furthermore, the AR coating minimizes the ghost phenomenon and enables capturing of images without missing crucial information even during the night and in dark environments.
30x Enhanced Optical Zoom
Using a compact lens designed for resolutions up to 8M the camera maximizes the coverage of the 4M sensor. The newly designed lens provides high resolution and low aberration, making it capable of capturing high resolution images
that span from the Tele end from the screen center to the surrounding edges. There is no image deterioration using the 30x enhanced optical zoom. Experience full sharpness and dramatically reduced chromatic aberration in full
HD output and also achieve images with sharp resolution during 4M output.
Flare reduction with the new iris
Diamond flares and ghosts that occur on lenses disrupts focusing and deteriorates the image quality. The new lens adopts 7 blades compared to the conventional 2 blades, improving this phenomenon by generating fine circular flares,
and thus greatly improving image quality.
Color image acquisition during ICR ON
On conventional models, only black and white images are achieved while the IR cut filter was removed. The new ICR ON COLOR function enables the camera to capture shots with color even when the IR cut filter is removed. It is effective
for color visibility in dark environments. The precision of color reproduction varies depending on the light source and brightness.

Enables functioning of AF, AE, and AWB only in specified areas within the screen. Enables independent specification of any rectangle of the entire screen divided in 6 x 8. For example, if the subject location is specified with

High Sensitivity
Through introduction of new cell structures and circuit technology, the series efficiently uses light, achieving twice the sensitivity compared to conventional image sensors. Consequently, clear images can be captured even during the
night and in dark environments.
Super Image Stabilizer
Enables capturing of highly precise video with reduced blurring even in harsh environments with strong vibrations by greatly improving blur suppression and image stabilizer. The camera is during full HD or HD output equipped with the
Super and Super modes. Applying a wide correction area using 4M pixels the camera series suppresses blurs from strong vibrations and rotational vibrations compared to conventional models.

Starvis 1/1.8-type CMOS sensor
The Sony FCB-9500H Sony blockcamera is equipped with an approximately 417 million- effective-pixel, 1/1.8-type high sensitive, AR-coated (anti-reflective coating) CMOS sensor. With a high spectral sensitivity value in near infrared
to infrared, it is especially effective for security uses. Furthermore, the AR coating minimizes the ghost phenomenon and enables capturing of images without missing crucial information even during the night and in dark environments.
30x Enhanced Optical Zoom
Using a compact lens designed for resolutions up to 8M the camera maximizes the coverage of the 4M sensor. The newly designed lens provides high resolution and low aberration, making it capable of capturing high resolution images
that span from the Tele end from the screen center to the surrounding edges. There is no image deterioration using the 30x enhanced optical zoom. Experience full sharpness and dramatically reduced chromatic aberration in full
HD output and also achieve images with sharp resolution during 4M output.
Flare reduction with the new iris
Diamond flares and ghosts that occur on lenses disrupts focusing and deteriorates the image quality. The new lens adopts 7 blades compared to the conventional 2 blades, improving this phenomenon by generating fine circular flares,
and thus greatly improving image quality.
Color image acquisition during ICR ON
On conventional models, only black and white images are achieved while the IR cut filter was removed. The new ICR ON COLOR function enables the camera to capture shots with color even when the IR cut filter is removed. It is effective
for color visibility in dark environments. The precision of color reproduction varies depending on the light source and brightness.

Enables functioning of AF, AE, and AWB only in specified areas within the screen. Enables independent specification of any rectangle of the entire screen divided in 6 x 8. For example, if the subject location is specified with
